This is because the Pomo Canyon Wilderness is very beautiful. There are a good amount of people that camp in their vehicles at Camp Santa Rosa. We recommend that you buy a camping ticket to camp there and to stay overnight in your vehicle.
We recommend getting your own tent but the only tent available is the two-person tent for two people.
This is because the tents are quite expensive. For $30 for a two-person campground you can take a horse and buggy that will provide a decent night's sleep on a beautiful riverbed.
We recommend that you buy a camping ticket and go to one of the campgrounds near Santa Rosa for the night. The campsites are small so you should plan your schedule to get there early.
If you are in the Santa Rosa area you can camp in the area with the other campgrounds. If you do have a horse it is recommended to go to Pismo Canyon Environmental Camp for the night.
The site is a bit more remote and more isolated than the other campsites. The campsites are also smaller which is why they have a better chance of having some visitors. The campsites offer free overnight camping for two or three people.
The cost does vary according to how many people you have but for a two or three person experience a two night campsite is cheaper and you can sleep under the stars on a nice riverbed while you enjoy some hot cocoa with a few friends.
The night sky is so clear here and the Milky Way is visible most evenings. There are also many other places to visit in the area, one of which is the Madrean Sky Islands National Park and the other is the Guadalupe Mountains National Park, both of which are about a two hour drive away.
There are a lot of campgrounds nearby, but it is best to get there early and camp near Pismo Canyon so that you can sleep under a clear evening sky.
This is what most of us see the morning after a long day on the water. We are sure the sun is shining, maybe you can feel its rays on your skin in the morning.
I’ve been using the same boat for almost a decade now and I’ve never seen the sun in it, and it’s not the sun we are talking about here. We are talking about light!
I’m not sure if it’s possible to measure the amount of light in the morning but I’ve been doing it for years and it has been getting more and more dark during the day.

As I sit here reminiscing about my adventure-filled weekend at Bullfrog Pond Campground, I can't help but feel an intense surge of excitement all over again. It's been years since my now-husband and I visited this camping paradise nestled in the heart of the wilderness, but the memories are as vivid as ever. One chilly evening, while we were huddled inside our cozy tent trying to stay warm, we heard rustling outside. Initially, we assumed it was just some curious animals foraging around our campsite, but soon enough, we realized that we weren't alone. To our shock and awe, a massive black bear lumbered right into our clearing, seemingly unbothered by our presence! We held our breath, watching in awe as the majestic beast snuffled around our food storage box for any leftover scraps. It was an unforgettable wildlife encounter, one that we'll cherish forever. The Bullfrog Pond Campground itself is a true gem, offering the perfect balance of rustic charm and modern amenities. The campsites are spacious and secluded, surrounded by lush greenery and babbling brooks, providing a serene retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The campground boasts excellent facilities, such as clean restrooms and showers, fire pits for roasting marshmallows, and even a nearby lake for swimming and fishing. If you're planning to visit this enchanting oasis anytime soon, here are some tips and tricks that will make your experience even more delightful:
1) Always follow the "leave no trace" rule. Respect nature, pack out all trash, and minimize your impact on the environment as much as possible. Be bear-aware. Store all food items in a designated bear box or hanging bag, away from your tent. Never approach or feed wild animals!
3) Carry plenty of insect repellent to ward off pesky mosquitoes and ticks. It's also wise to pack some sunscreen and sunglasses for protection against the sun. Invest in a good-quality camping tent, sleeping bags, and other essentials to ensure a comfortable night's sleep. It's always better to err on the side of caution and bring extra blankets or layers, as temperatures can drop quite low at night. Last but not least, don't forget your camera! This breathtaking campground offers an abundance of stunning vistas and wildlife sightings that are just waiting to be captured.

As someone who has spent countless weekends camping in the great outdoors, I was eager to check out Lawson's Landing, situated at 137 Marine View Dr in Dillon Beach, California. I was particularly excited to save some money on this trip, as my bank account had been stretched thin from living and working in Berkeley. My adventures began as soon as I hit the road. I was determined to make it to Lawson's Landing in one piece, but little did I know that fate had other plans for me. As I approached the winding roads leading up to Diego Rivers campground, a sudden gust of wind swept through my car, causing my trusty steed (aka: my old Honda Civic) to swerve uncontrollably. Panicking, I tightened my grip on the wheel and tried to regain control. But it was no use - my car had a mind of its own. As I careened off the road and into a nearby ditch, I couldn't help but laugh (okay, maybe chuckle) at the absurdity of the situation. Bruised but not broken, I finally arrived at Lawson's Landing. The scenery was breathtaking - towering redwood trees surrounded us on all sides, and the sound of nearby waves crashing against the shore added an extra layer of serenity to the scene. After a successful setup of our tents, my camping buddies and I set off for a hike along the nearby bluffs. We were hoping to spot some local wildlife - perhaps even a curious black bear or a playful family of mountain lions (okay, maybe not that). But instead, we stumbled upon something far more exciting: a group of hippies playing hacky sack in a clearing. Feeling inspired by their carefree spirits, we joined in on the fun, throwing the brightly-colored ball back and forth with reckless abandon. For hours, we laughed and danced alongside our newfound friends, until we were all too exhausted to continue. As night fell, we gathered around a roaring campfire, sharing stories of past adventures and imagining what the future held in store for us. We were grateful for the chance to escape from our daily routines and reconnect with nature (and each other), reminding ourselves of the simple pleasures that truly mattered. And as we drifted off to sleep, nestled snugly in our sleeping bags, I couldn't help but smile at the thought of my misadventures on the road - they had been a small price to pay for this unforgettable camping experience.

As my wife Evelyn and I embarked on our annual camping trip, we decided to explore a new location - the stunning Wright's Beach Campground nestled in the heart of Richmond California. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality by the friendly staff working here. The team was led by the impeccably dressed Park Ranger, Mark. His crisp navy uniform and smart demeanor immediately conveyed a sense of authority and expertise. His friendly smile and welcoming demeanor put us at ease as we checked in. Throughout our stay, we encountered numerous other staff members who were equally kind-hearted and helpful. The campground's maintenance team, led by the amiable Carlos, left no stone unturned to ensure that everything was running smoothly. His sunny disposition and cheerful demeanor were infectious, and we couldn't help but smile as we passed him by. But it wasn't just their appearance that impressed us - it was their behavior too. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. They provided us with valuable tips on the best hiking trails in the area, recommended nearby eateries, and even offered us a hand whenever we needed help carrying our equipment. Their unwavering dedication to customer satisfaction was evident throughout our stay, and we were thoroughly impressed. One particularly memorable experience happened at Everly York, our place of business, when a heated argument broke out between two of our business partners. The situation quickly escalated, and it seemed like things might turn violent. Fortunately, the security team, led by the calm and composed Rachel, acted swiftly and decisively to defuse the situation. Their level-headedness and quick thinking prevented what could have been a disastrous event and restored order to our workplace. We are incredibly grateful for their prompt and professional intervention, and we feel fortunate to have them on our team. In today's news, we read about a heartwarming story of a group of volunteers who came together to clean up a nearby beach. Their dedication and commitment to the environment were truly inspiring, and we applaud their efforts. We are proud to be part of such a caring and responsible community, and we vow to do our part in preserving the beauty of Richmond California. As we leave Wright's Beach Campground behind and head back home, we feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude and appreciation for this incredible place and its staff. They have left an indelible impression on us, and we hope to return here soon.

A weary student found solace in the majestic redwoods at Cloverdale/Healdsburg KOA, where memories flooded back of lively conversations and laughter around a campfire. Alone this time, he basked in nature's serenity by a river starry night. But his heart was heavy as he knew paradise must end; he left with longing for familiar comforts.

As I sit here, reminiscing about our family trip to Olema Campground, a shiver runs down my spine as the memory of that night comes flooding back. Located at 10155 CA-1, Olema, CA 94950, United States, this beautiful campground is nestled within the breathtaking redwood forests of Northern California and offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Our family had been planning this trip for months, and we were all beyond excited to finally hit the open road. My finance and I had done our research, and we knew that Olema Campground was the perfect spot for us to set up camp for a few days. Little did we know, however, that an uninvited guest would soon make itself known during our stay.
The first day of our trip was filled with excitement as we explored the nearby beaches and hiking trails. As night fell, we returned to our campsite, eager to roast marshmallows over a crackling fire before retiring for the evening. It was then that we first noticed him - or rather, them.
As darkness settled upon us, a mischievous pair of raccoons emerged from the shadows, their piercing eyes reflecting the dim glow of our campfire. They seemed harmless enough at first, but as they grew bolder, it became clear that these creatures were up to no good.
One raccoon, in particular, took a keen interest in our food supplies. Despite our best efforts to secure them, he managed to pry open the lid of our cooler and helped himself to the contents within. Time after time, we found ourselves chasing him away only for him to return moments later, as if taunting us.
The situation soon escalated from mere annoyance to sheer terror when I discovered that the raccoon had not only stolen our food but also our camping equipment. With each passing hour, he grew more brazen in his attempts to steal whatever he could find – even going so far as to swipe a pair of sunglasses off my finance's face while he slept!
That night, as we huddled together in our tent, fearing for our safety, we vowed never again to underestimate the cunning nature of these masked bandits. We learned valuable lessons during our stay at Olema Campground – namely, always keep your food and belongings securely stored away when not in use and never turn your back on a raccoon!
Despite the unexpected challenges we faced during our time at Olema Campground, I would highly recommend this beautiful location to anyone seeking an unforgettable camping experience. The surrounding scenery is truly breathtaking, and there are plenty of activities available for visitors of all ages – from hiking and biking to exploring nearby beaches and wildlife sanctuaries.
For those looking to plan a trip to Olema Campground, here are some tips and tricks that will help make your stay as enjoyable as possible:
1. Secure all food and belongings before dusk to prevent raccoons from becoming interested in your campsite.
2. Bring along plenty of bug spray and sunscreen to protect yourself from pesky insects and harsh sunlight.
3. Pack comfortable hiking boots and appropriate clothing for various weather conditions – the climate in Northern California can be unpredictable!
4. Make use of the campground's amenities, such as the picnic tables, fire pits, and restrooms, to ensure a comfortable stay.
5. Don't forget your camera! Olema Campground offers countless opportunities for stunning photographs – from majestic redwood trees to picturesque ocean views.
In conclusion, while our encounter with the misbehaving raccoons may have been unforgettable, it only served to enhance our overall experience at Olema Campground. With its breathtaking scenery and abundance of outdoor activities, this hidden gem is truly a must-visit destination for any nature enthusiast!

After much research and procrastination, my husband Nicholas Cortez and I decided to embark on a camping trip to Steele Canyoon Campground located at 1605 Steele Canyon Rd, Napa, CA 94558, United States. As someone who's had her fair share of disappointments when it comes to customer service in the hospitality industry, I was pleasantly surprised by the staff working at this campground.
Firstly, let me tell you about our journey from a popular point of interest in Santa Rosa - the Charles M. Schulz Museum & Research Center. The drive to Steele Canyoon Campground took us about an hour and a half, which wasn't too bad considering we made several stops along the way for restroom breaks and snacks (thank goodness for those roadside diners).
Upon arrival at the campground, we were greeted by friendly staff members who appeared to be well-trained professionals. They wore uniforms that looked neatly pressed and clean, giving off a sense of professionalism that was refreshing compared to other places we've been before. The campsite itself was spacious and well-maintained, with plenty of room for us to pitch our tent without feeling cramped or claustrophobic.
Overall, I must say that my skepticism towards campground staff was put to rest by the efficient and courteous service provided by this establishment. It's not often that you come across such a delightful experience when planning outdoor adventures, especially in today's world where customer satisfaction seems to be secondary priority for many businesses. So if you're looking for a memorable camping trip near Naples, California, look no further than Steele Canyoon Campground - it truly exceeded our expectations!

As an avid camper, I recently had the pleasure of staying at Samuel P Taylor State Park for a week. The park is located in the heart of the Marin Headlands, offering stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco Bay. During my stay, however, I encountered a unexpected weather phenomenon that left me shaken to my core: The Midnight Storm. It all started on my second night at the campground. The wind began to pick up around midnight, but I brushed it off as just another passing storm. Little did I know, this was no ordinary gust. As the hours passed, the winds grew stronger and louder, shaking the very foundations of our tent and threatening to tear it apart. At 2am, we huddled together in our sleeping bags, praying for the storm to pass. The sound of rain pelting against the canvas was deafening, drowning out any hopeful whispers of calm winds. It wasn't until 4am that the storm finally subsided, leaving us exhausted and shaken but grateful to still be alive. Despite this harrowing experience, I must say that Samuel P Taylor State Park is truly a hidden gem in the Bay Area. The campsite itself is nestled among towering redwood trees, providing ample shade from the sun and shelter from the wind. The bathrooms and showers are clean and well-maintained, with hot water and plenty of privacy. One tip I would offer to future campers: come prepared for the weather. While it's true that California is known for its sunny disposition, it's not uncommon for sudden storms to roll in without warning. Pack a sturdy tent, rain fly, and plenty of warm blankets to stay cozy during those unexpected midnight showers. Another tip: bring your own firewood. While the park does sell firewood on-site, it's often overpriced and of poor quality. Bringing your own allows for more control over the type of wood you burn, as well as saving you a few extra bucks in the process. Overall, I would highly recommend Samuel P Taylor State Park to any nature enthusiasts looking for a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Just be sure to pack your rain gear - you never know when The Midnight Storm might strike!
(Side note: speaking of unexpected weather phenomena, have you heard about BMW's dual EV tactic? It seems that by offering identical electric and gas-powered cars, customers are given the freedom to choose based on their specific needs instead of being forced into pricier EVs. This innovative approach has resulted in a staggering 74% sales surge for the company.
